The Applied Science Private University (ASU) is one of the largest private universities in Jordan, and a pioneering institution in higher education in the Arab region. ASU commenced its academic journey in October 1991, privileged with a clear vision towards excellency, a responsible mission, and ethical aims. The university’s location is in a well-served easy to access area of Shafa Badran in the capital city, Amman. ASU hosts a diverse student body, including a significant number of international students and faculty members.

ASU is known for its notable commitment to quality education, continuous improvement in the fields of research and development, and community service. ASU comprises 12 faculties: Pharmacy, Dentistry, Allied Medical Sciences, Nursing, Engineering and Technology, Information Technology, Science, Arts and Humanities, Business, Art and Design, Law, and Sharia and Islamic Studies. It offers 41 undergraduate and 15 postgraduate degrees. The university's educational programs are highly regarded and granted international recognitions with accreditations from reputable international bodies such as ABET, ACPE, ACEN, CIOL, AACSB, Hcéres, and IIMP. In 2022, the university was awarded the British accreditation ASIC as Premier Institution, and ASU has become the 1st private university to achieve “Outstanding Achievement in Developing University Education at the International Level in Jordan”.

 

In 2024, ASU achieved an advanced standing in the QS World University Rankings 2025 being ranked the 851-900th among the best universities globally. ASU was also ranked at 80-90 in the QS Arab University Rankings among Arab universities and received five stars in online learning in 2023 according to the QS Stars Ratings. In 2023, ASU was the first university in the Middle East and the 21st globally to receive "5 Stars Plus" in the QS Star Ratings.
